Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, FL., has named Brad Boyd as its new director of agronomy. Boyd will oversee golf course maintenance for Central Florida resort’s award-winning trio of courses: Streamsong Red, Streamsong Blue and Streamsong Black. along with The Chain short course, currently under construction, while managing a staff of golf maintenance personnel.

Boyd has more than 25 years of experience in golf course agronomy in the United States and the Caribbean, including a 15-year stint as director of agronomy at TPC Dorado Beach Resort & Club in Puerto Rico, where he was named Agronomist of the Year for KemperSports in 2009.  He spent the past three years as a superintendent at Frontier Golf where he was responsible for new course builds and redesigns.

“Brad is a welcome addition to our team,” said Kevin Kennedy, general manager at Streamsong. “The condition and maintenance of our courses is imperative to our continued success and repeat visitation from guests.  Brad’s experience providing those conditions in a world class resort environment will only help grow our reputation as a bucket list destination.”

A KemperDestinations property created on an ancient phospate mining site, the resort, which ncludes a hotel, spa and multiple restaurants, this year is celebrating its 10-year anniversary as home to a trio of the golf industry’s more acclaimed golf course architects: Black (Gil Hanse/Jim Wagner); Red (Coore/Crenshaw); and Blue (Tom Doak). The Chain, also a Coore/Crenshaw design, is expected to open later this year.
