Royal Dornoch Golf Club is getting new clubhouse. Members of he legendary Scottish club – home of Doanld Ross – have laid the foundations for a new multi-million clubhouse, which is designed designed to make the most of panoramic views of the historic links, rightfully regarded as among the finest in the world.
The project went on hold when the pandemic struck, but a Special General Meeting recently held at Dornoch Academy brought it back to life. Royal Dornoch’s current clubhouse dates to the early years of the 20TH Century and has been extended in piecemeal fashion over the years. The new clubhouse – on land near the first tee and 18th fairway of the Championship Course – will measure 2,040 meters – 600 meters larger than the current footprnt.
Royal Dornoch, by the way, will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2027.
