Since closing this past May, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has advanced a sweeping $100 million transformation – introducing redesigned guest rooms and suites, two new restaurant concepts, refreshed public, retail and lounge spaces, new spa, and expanded fitness and wellness offerings, spread across 17 acres. Reservations are now open for stays beginning Dec. 8.

Led by Gencom and spearheaded by design architect Hart Howerton, Design Agency and Chapi Chapo Design, the project reflects the natural beauty, heritage, and relaxed spirit of Key Biscayne, while balancing timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication.

Guest rooms and suites offer a renewed sanctuary of calm with freshly designed bespoke furnishings, soft textures, and a palette drawn from sea and sand. Studio suites feature kitchenettes, while all other residential suites have state-of-the-art full kitchens and generous living areas. Each of the bathrooms within  the  property are newly appointed with natural stone and shower-tub combo, while upgraded one-bedroom suites are outfitted with walk-in showers, and deep soaking tubs designed for unhurried relaxation.

The lobby has been revamped into an elegant arrival experience, with sculptural lighting, refined finishes, and intimate seating areas that feel both sophisticated and inviting, while the open entrance allows for a clear, uninterrupted view to the ocean.

Outdoors, revitalized terraces, pool decks, and landscaped gardens create a seamless connection to the shoreline. Private cabanas, shaded lounges, and expanded dining patios offer serene spaces to unwind, each designed to frame the beauty and quiet exclusivity of Key Biscayne. Families will find the new Ritz Kids Club, an indoor retreat that balances calming and playful elements. The space features interactive games and a vibrant focal wall designed to spark wonder, all set within serene, soothing colors, where children can explore and play.

Wellness and fitness are at the heart of the resort, offering spaces for rest, renewal, and quiet discovery. The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has been redesigned to create a tranquil oasis, inspired by the island’s mangroves and limestone. Highlights include the new Spa Garden, co-ed lounge, and exclusive retail partners such as Late Checkout, alongside other handpicked brands. The new fitness center is enhanced by a partnership with Tremble, a boutique studio known for its specialized classes in strength, movement, and mindful well-being. Together, these offerings invite guests to embrace a holistic sense of balance and restoration.

New dining options will place emphasis on experiences that harmonize flavor, design, and atmosphere. The resort will debut two concepts: Luma, replacing Lightkeepers, an Italian-inspired restaurant that blends coastal tradition with modern elegance; and Paralía, replacing Cantina Beach, an Aegean-inspired destination where Greek and Turkish influences highlight Florida’s freshest seafood and produce.

Along the shoreline, Dune Beach Bar, formerly Dune Burgers on the Beach, will offer a casual retreat by day and a lively escape by night. Rum Bar will also take on new life as a sophisticated lobby lounge and bar, blending modern elegance with cocktails and small-bites. Additional outlets, including Scoop and Stefano’s, will remain part of the resort’s dining landscape.

Poolside concepts will reflect the resort’s updated style, with Scoop offering a classic grab-and-go ice cream stand and Stefano’s serving exclusively wood-fired pizzas in a newly added seating area for daytime enjoyment.

“The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has long been a place where unforgettable memories are made,” said Derek Flint, Market General Manager. “This transformation honors our history while creating new experiences for today’s luxury traveler. Every space, from accommodations to dining and wellness, has been carefully crafted to inspire, delight, and invite discovery. We cannot wait to welcome guests back this December to explore the next chapter of this iconic destination.”

Ahead of the reopening, the resort has partnered with luxury travel brand TUMI and international artist Louis-Nicolas Darbon to debut a limited-edition artistic luggage collection, which will be showcased in immersive experiences in New York City and Miami. These activations offer a first glimpse of the resort’s design inspiration through art, storytelling, and curated sensory experiences, inviting guests to connect with the spirit of the resort before its official reopening.
