Fuku, the quick, chef-driven eatery from chef and cultural icon David Chang, known for its signature spicy fried chicken sandwich and growing lineup of unexpected collaborations, is teaming up with legendary Peter Luger Steak House for a limited-edition sando. Launching Oct. 9, the Fuku x Peter Luger Sando will be available for dine-in at Fuku’s Coral Gables, FL., and West Palm Beach locations, as well as for takeout and delivery.
Served on a Martin’s potato roll, the Fuku x Peter Luger Sando features a choice of Fuku’s spicy or mild fried chicken topped with Peter Luger Extra Thick-Cut Bacon, white onion, and “Luger Jam” made from Luger’s iconic steak sauce and shallots. The combination brings smoky bacon, savory crunch and the signature tang of Peter Luger Steak Sauce to Fuku’s craveable, hand-breaded fried chicken. Guests can also pair the sando with Luger Lager, Luger’s collaborative beer with Threes Brewing of Brooklyn.
“This collaboration grew out of a casual lunch at Fuku that quickly turned into a conversation with our culinary team about what we could create together,” said Fuku Chief Brand Officer, Kaitlin Weinman. “We started exploring how Peter Luger’s iconic flavors could work with our fried chicken, and the idea took off from there. The finished sando is unexpected, craveable and a great celebration of the New York roots our brands share.”
“Fuku took two of our classics and made something really special,” said Daniel Turtel, VP of Peter Luger Steak House. “It’s a fun, unexpected crossover that we can’t wait to see in South Florida.”
Each born in New York City, Fuku and Peter Luger have built loyal followings by creating unmistakable flavors that stand the test of time. The collaboration reimagines some of Peter Luger’s most recognizable elements, including its thick-cut bacon and signature steak sauce (each available in grocery stores nationwide), through Fuku’s bold, chef-driven approach to fried chicken.
