Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club in Vero Beach, FL., has named Todd Ching as its new Director of Racquet Sports & Recreation.
With more than 20 years of professional experience in racquet sports, Todd will oversee the Club’s tennis, pickleball, bocce, and croquet programs – key amenities that have helped Orchid Island earn recognition as one of Florida’s Top 7 Tennis Communities by the Private Communities Registry.
A lifelong racquet sports enthusiast, Ching began his tennis journey at age 6 in what was then the National Junior Tennis League (NJTL), now part of USTA league play. By age 12, he had dedicated himself fully to tennis. He later played #1 singles and doubles at the Technical College of the Lowcountry while working at the Van der Meer Tennis Academy.
Ching’s career includes key leadership roles at Croasdaile Country Club and The Farm in North Carolina, the latter where he managed a large staff of professionals and oversaw programs that produced multiple top-ranked junior players – earning him the title of USPTA Pro of the Year in 2005.
Most recently, Ching was at the Governors Club, where he expanded the tennis operations to include wellness initiatives and built a premier pickleball program and facility from the ground up.
“It is a privilege to join the team at Orchid Island. Fostering friendships among members while bringing a blend of energy, fun, and professionalism to the club is a daily goal,” said Ching. “I am very excited to join the Vero Beach area tennis and pickleball community.”
Spanning from the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian River, Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club is highly sought-after for its laidback waterfront lifestyle. The Beach Club serves as the heart of the community, with a resort-style pool, world-class fitness center, salon and spa, and multiple dining venues – all overlooking the azure Atlantic Ocean.
Residents also have access to nearly one mile of a secluded beach, an Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf course, and an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Located along Florida’s Treasure Coast, Orchid Island is home to a wide variety of premier riverfront and oceanfront estates, courtyard homes, cottages, and mid-rise condominiums.
