The 2026 OFX Irish Legends – officially launched earlier this spring at the great Carton House Fairmont in County Kildare, Ireland – sets the stage for a July 9-12 tournament on the Montgomerie Course. The event forms part of the Staysure Legends Tour – a global schedule featuring more than 50 of golf’s greats, including Colin Montgomerie, Paul McGinley, Ian Woosnam and Michael Campbell.

Located west of Dublin, Carton House is a 1,100-acre parkland-style resort that features two golf courses – one designed by Mark O’ Meara and the other by Montgomerie – the latter of which is known for its high pot bunkers and narrow fairways.
“It requires good iron play, and you can get what you need out of the course. It’s a tough golf course and it will produce a really good winner,” McGinley said. “Carton House is an incredible venue with so much history. All the great Irish players have passed through here whilst on the Golf Ireland programs. It’s a ‘full circle’ moment coming back to play here.’’
The event is free to attend with tickets available via registration on the Staysure Legends Tour website.
Past champions of the OFX Irish Legends include James Kingston, Adilson da Silva, and Peter Baker. McGinley will be aiming to become the first Irish winner of the tournament on home soil.
The tournament, part of the Staysure Legends Tour, will once again offer unique “Playing Experiences,” giving amateur golfers the opportunity to play alongside some of the game’s greats. The opportunity for everyday golfers to tee it up with legends of the game, combined with a more intimate viewing experience.
“We saw the success of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open here in 2024 and 2025 and it put us on a global stage,’’ said Tim Mullen, managing parter of Belmullet Hospitality Group owners of Carton House. “The Legends event will do the same for us.’’
