Regardless of the season, Spring into fall during Sunset Stroll Regardless of the season, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, FL., never disappoints for beauty and authenticity.
The Sunset Stroll, Sept. 11 from 5:30–8 pm,, is no exception. The Summer Stroll features a twilight procession through the Roji-en: Garden of the Drops of Dew, and the peaceful Yamato-kan, the Morikami’s original museum, during the annual after-hours event series.
Guests can discover the fusion of traditional Eastern-meets-Western style during “The Journey of Japanese Fashion: Heisei (1989–2019) to Reiwa (2019–Present)” fashion show presented by Mirai Con in the Morikami Theater. Performances are at 5:50pm, 6:35pm, and 7:20pm.
Live taiko drumming by Fushu Daiko will be on the museum’s lakefront terrace. Performances are at 6:10pm, 6:50pm, and 7:30pm.
Visit Yamato Island and sway to the peaceful melodies of ancient koto music performed by harpist Emiko Koto.
Kanpai! Raise a glass and savor premium artisanal sake from Japan (Niigata Sake Selections), complemented by Asian-inspired cuisine from Cornell Café, Kaminari Ramen, Ramen Lab, and Akiko-ya Traditional Japanese Sweets.
Cost is $5 for members and $12 for the general public. Food and beverages are purchased separately.
