Mondrian Mexico City Condesa has a new artistic collaboration with Venezuelan-born artist Carlos Andrade, transforming the hotel into a vibrant showcase. As part of Mondrian’s commitment to fostering meaningful cultural experiences, the collaboration reinforces the hotel’s vision for serving as more than just a hotel stay but an opportunity to experience Human Echoes, an exhibit reflecting on the evolution of the human being and the transformation of identity over time.

“This installation embodies Mondrian Mexico City Condesa’s dedication to supporting artists and creating spaces where guests and visitors alike can gather and make meaningful connections,” said  Claudia Di Gino, general manager of Mondrian Mexico City Condesa. “The Condesa neighborhood is a hub of culture and art and we look forward to continuing to make our mark in the artistic community.”

Working across sculpture, painting, ceramics, and mixed media, Andrade explores themes of identity, displacement, human connection, and transformation. Central to his practice is a deepcommitment to sustainability and the recontextualization of materials.

Andrade works primarily with found objects and industrial elements that were born with a specific purpose, rescuing them from obsolescence and giving them a second life within his sculptures. Through this process of recovery and reinvention, he examines the relationship between materiality and emotion – inviting visitors to question their own experiences through immersive encounters.

The exhibit reflecting on the evolution of the human being and the transformation of identity over time. Created with unconventional materials and found objects not originally designed for artistic use, the piece is itself an act of transformation: elements discarded or overlooked are gathered, braided, and assembled into new forms that carry both the memory of their origin and the weight of their reinvention.

Just as these materials are given a new function and a new meaning within the work, people also go through processes that force them to let go of the familiar, question their foundations, and make decisions that lead them toward new territories.

With a contemporary and futuristic aesthetic that speaks to ritual and ancestral forms, Human Echoes presents itself as a cultural and emotional echo of our capacity to transform – a reminder that what has already lived can always begin again.

For Mondrian, this partnership represents another step in cultivating the hotel as a cultural

platform that celebrates local and international creative voices. Through exhibits, collaborations, and community, the hotel continues to champion art as an essential pillar of the human experience.
