This year’s Miami Art Week features an array of eccentric and elegant events, exhibitions, shows and parties, as this “artstravaganza” splashes the region with cultural color. Here’s a look at Miami Art Week events at some of Miami Beach’s more inspiring sanctuaries.
Nov. 20 from 7-11 p.m.: Grand Opening of borderline at The Goodtime Hotel
The Goodtime Hotel presents the grand opening borderline, a collaborative exhibition in partnership with Queue Gallery, Supermarket Gallery and Miami Art Society, featuring 11 South Florida-based artists working across a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture and ceramics. With never-before-seen works by both established and emerging artists, the show invites audiences to “linger in the in-between.”

Alongside the artwork, this immersive evening features tunes and entertainment. All participating artists will be present, engaging with the crowd as they enjoy passed appetizers and complimentary beverages. Additional food and drink will be available for purchase from The Restaurant at The Goodtime Hotel. For those unable to attend the opening celebration, the collection will remain open daily through Dec. 8, with viewing hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dec. 2: Paws & Palettes with Danny O at Hotel Continental
Hotel Continental and artist Danny O’Connor present Paws & Palettes, an immersive and interactive celebration where creativity goes off-leash. Guests are encouraged to bring photos of their pets for O’Connor to “re-paw-duce” and sketch on special Hotel Continental stationery. O’Connor, the creative force behind Danny O Studio, is known for his large-scale, cartoon-inspired canvases that pay tribute to the golden era of American leisure—a playful mix of nostalgia, pop culture and sun-soaked escapism. Four of his works are already displayed in Hotel Continental’s common areas. Attendees are invited to unwind poolside or at the vintage-inspired Mixer while enjoying “paw-fectly” chilled beverages and bites from Divebar, a retro cocktail den featuring a self-pour beverage wall. This event takes place on the hotel’s pool deck with two sessions: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m.
Dec. 3 from 1-5 p.m.: An Afternoon of Art with Danny O at Hotel Continental

Hotel Continental and Danny O’Connor present An Afternoon of Art with live poolside painting. O’Connor, whose painting “The Summer of 1948” is featured in the hotel’s lobby, will expand on that work by selecting small vignettes that appear within it and reinterpreting them on a larger canvas by the pool. The painting channels midcentury American vacations with era-specific details, from classic automobiles to icons like Marilyn Monroe, Chuck Berry and Steve McQueen. The piece’s signature glow comes from an underpainting technique, where yellow lines peek through, infusing the work with the warmth of endless summer days.
Guests will have the opportunity to watch as these whimsical characters, including favorites like longboarder “Commander Good Times” and surfer “JoJo Toscano,” come to life. Portraits created during the event will be available for purchase until the end of the day on Thursday, December 4. Guests are invited to relax by the pool, enjoy chilled beverages and bites from Divebar, and watch as O’Connor transforms the sunlit atmosphere of Hotel Continental into a living canvas celebrating art, nostalgia and the spirit of endless summer.
Dec. 4 from 8-11 p.m.: The Betsy Art Week Opening Event
The Betsy – South Beach unveils a brilliant new collection of photography that encompasses wide-ranging practices and purposes that extend far beyond merely pointing a camera and clicking the shutter. This collection (as well as some new mixed-media work) is realized through the inspired curation of the hotel’s co-owner and art curator, Lesley Goldwasser, within nine property-wide galleries.

Peter London Global Dance Company
The Betsy’s opening event features the premiere of a commissioned piece by the Peter London Global Dance Company that explores themes of wrapping, unwrapping, temporality and transformation. As movements dissolve—one into another and then morph into a final still gesture—the entire dance becomes a mirror (and an echo) for the ephemeral nature of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s work, which is on view at The Betsy’s Gallery. Select artists from this year’s Art Week collection will be present at the event alongside Goldwasser. Guests are encouraged to enter The Betsy’s Gallery through 1433 Collins Ave.
The Betsy’s Art Week exhibitions capture the intensity of the world around us: past, present and future. Front and center is a major collection of works from Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s legacy of “putting the world under wraps,” including historic images of the Biscayne Bay installation in Miami (1983), the Reichstag in Berlin (1995) and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris (2021), all exclusively photographed in real time by Wolfgang Volz.
