One of Baja California Sur’s more storied hotels is entering a new chapter. Opening October 20, Perla La Paz, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a 90-room hotel that pairs its restored 1940s Art Deco character with contemporary design and modern amenities. Located along La Paz’s waterfront boardwalk malecón, the hotel features four dining and drinking concepts, including El Faro Rooftop with panoramic views and Baja sunsets, alongside a spa, fitness center, outdoor pool, boutique shopping and event spaces.
Before it became Perla La Paz, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, the grand hotel served as a cultural hub for decades, connecting guests to the rich heritage of La Paz. Hotel Perla opened in 1940 as the first grand hotel of what was then the Territory of Baja California Sur, a frequent stomping ground for intrepid travelers searching for marine adventures. Built by the local community, the hotel is carrying its legacy into a new – very art deco – chapter.
Set along the iconic waterfront malecón, in the heart of the city, the hotel places travelers right across the beach in the warmth of Baja California Sur. Perla offers travelers a new way to experience one of the region’s most iconic landmarks, while honoring what made it a Baja icon.
