Fuku, the quick culinary, chef-driven fried chicken restaurant from chef and cultural icon David Chang, is now open at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach, FL. It’s Fuku’s first Palm Beach County location and second standalone restaurant, continuing the brand’s expansion across South Florida following its successful Coral Gables debut earlier this year.
Throughout July, locals and visitors are invited to experience Fuku’s signature menu as the restaurant begins serving the West Palm Beach community. Details about the restaurant’s official grand opening celebration will be announced in the coming weeks.
Originally introduced as a secret off-menu item at Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City’s East Village, the Fuku sando quickly gained a strong following for its bold flavors and chef-driven approach to fried chicken. Since opening its first dedicated location in 2015, the concept has expanded to major stadiums, arenas and entertainment venues across the country, while growing its standalone restaurant footprint in key markets.
“South Florida has been an incredible market for Fuku, and we’re excited to continue building on that momentum in West Palm Beach,” said Claudia Lezcano, CEO of Fuku. “CityPlace brings together the kind of energy, community and mix of locals and visitors that make it a natural fit for our brand. We’re excited to introduce Palm Beach County to the flavors and experience that have made Fuku a favorite across the country.”
The opening adds another nationally recognized restaurant to CityPlace’s growing lineup of restaurants and retailers.
At the heart of the Fuku’s menu is its signature hand-breaded chicken sandos, including the OG Sando with crispy fried chicken, Fuku mayo and pickles; the Sweet & Spicy Sando glazed in Fuku’s signature sauce and topped with pickled daikon and Fuku Crunch; and the Miso Ranch & Slaw Sando featuring crispy chicken, rice vinegar slaw and miso scallion ranch.
Exclusive to the West Palm Beach restaurant, Fuku will also offer a Chicken Rice Bowl, giving Palm Beach County guests a menu item unique to this location.
The beverage lineup continues to keep things equally cool and casual, with oolong sweet tea, yuzu lemonade, fountain sodas, slushies and a curated selection canned beer. Additional menu offerings and local collaborations will be unveiled as part of the restaurant’s official grand opening celebration later this summer.
Designed with Fuku’s signature urban, contemporary aesthetic, the 1,617-square-foot restaurant features a bright, welcoming atmosphere accented by the brand’s playful peach color palette, inspired by Momofuku, which translates to “lucky peach.”
