Tube the Smoky Mountains this winter. Tubing is one of the more popular activities in the Smoky Mountains in the winter. Here are three of my favorite spots for winter guests to Tube the Smoky Mountains during a Tennessee winter. Also, from Sevierville to Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge, there’s an array of accomodations that include resorts, cabins, condos, campgrounds and RV parks. Make sure to check the weaather daily for road closing, delays and best routes throught the Smokes.
Ober Gatlinburg
This snow tubing area includes 10 lanes with a 400-foot-long hill you’ll get to fly down as many times as you want for 90 minutes. A special device called the “Magic Carpet’’ allows guests to hitch a ride to the top of the hill, saving their energy for the downhill races.
Ober makes its own snow, too. By using heavy duty snow making machines – the snow for the ski resort – the snow tubing hill and snow play area is created just for these winter activities. The snow tubing season is open from late November to late March.
, Pigeon Forge Snow
This is the only indoor snow tubing hill in the Smokies. Guests don;t have to bundle for the cold, as the average temperature inside the building hovers between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Snow making technology keeps the snow from melting.
Rowdy Bear’s Smoky Montain Snowpark
Guest can ride to the top of the 70-foot-tall hill and race down the 500-foot-long lanes against family and friends, or connect your tubes together and ride at the same time!
In addition to the snow tubing hill, kids and adults will be able to enjoy the snow in the play area, where you can make snow angels or build snowmen. The park makes its own snow. Guests also have access to other attractions, including the Power Coaster and the Laser Gun Coaster.
