A new “Angry Birds” game mode is now available to golfers at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort’s Toptracer Range on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Toptracer has teamed up with the iconic game franchise to hatch (pardon the pun) their latest interactive game experience that allows golfers to play Angry Birds in real life.

The object is simple: Using the company’s ball-tracing technology, hit golf shots to fling Angry Birds characters through the air to smash down virtual structures, defeat the pesky pigs, and earn as many points and stars as possible.

“We partnered with The Angry Birds franchise because it is one of the world’s most beloved entertainment brands, spanning games, blockbuster movies, animated series, and more, with over 5 billion mobile game downloads to date,” said Scott Blevins, general manager of Toptracer. “Angry Birds is yet another exciting step forward in our mission to revolutionize the range experience, giving our customers the opportunity to drive their businesses like never before.”

Golfers at the Palmetto Dunes Toptracer Range can take on a range of different challenges. Choose from eight different chapters, each with three different levels, and protect the birds’ precious Hatchlings.

It’s family-friendly, perfect for all ages and skill levels –  and absolute mayhem.

Located at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, the Toptracer Range boasts 14 hitting bays (plus a VIP bay) equipped with high-speed cameras, TV monitors, and interactive games for all ages. Open to the public, walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended from spring to fall. Daily golfers with tee times are not required to make reservations.

Angry Birds was originally a mobile game launched by Rovio Entertainment. The company publishes games that have been downloaded more than 5 billion times. Since releasing Angry Birds in 2009, the company has since produced the Angry Birds movie in 2016, a sequel in 2019 along with an animated series.

The Angry Birds game is just one of the ways in which Toptracer has become synonymous with golf in recent years. Some may have played an Angry Birds game at a TopGolf location, also powered by Toptracer’s technology.

With this new game mode, Toptracer, Rovio Entertainment – and Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort – continue to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment, creating memorable experiences that bring people together through fun and innovative gameplay.

Toptracer, a Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. brand, is the most-used and most-trusted advanced ball-tracing technology. The first of its kind to be introduced to the game of golf, Toptracer has revolutionized the way viewers experience the game at Topgolf venues, play at driving ranges and watch major golf tournaments on television.

Toptracer incorporates the same technology that tracks and displays ball flight in real-time during the television broadcasts of tournaments on the PGA and LPGA Tours, and is tailor-made for golfers to track all their shot data and dive into the analytical of their swings – even using the technology to monitor their progress and highlight areas of improvement.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Toptracer on the upcoming addition of Angry Birds to their world-renowned range technology,” said Katri Chacona, head of brand licensing at Rovio Entertainment. “It’s hugely exciting that visitors to Toptracer’s driving ranges will be able to engage with Angry Birds. We believe the resulting experience will drive the fun factor to a whole new level for Toptracer’s global audience, whether they are already Angry Birds fans or experiencing the brand for the first time.”

In addition, golfers at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort can make Toptracer Range their groups game day spot this fall. With NFL Sunday Ticket on the resort’s TVs, guests can watch their college or NFL team play while they enjoy some Toptracer golf.

Of course, guests enjoy cool drinks and great food with their Toptracer Range experience at Palmetto Dunes. Food and beverages are available for purchase and delivery to each bay from our bay hosts. The resort offers a range menu available featuring handheld options including nachos, chicken strips with fries, wings, pizzas and more. Soft drinks, beer, wine and mixed drinks are also available on the range.

Club rentals, should guests require them, are available and included with Toptracer Range reservations.
