Here’s great news for golfers planning trips to St. George and Southern Utah. They now can reserve tee times up to 60 days in advance to Black Desert Resort in St. George.

Starting Oct. 16, Black Desert Resort will open its doors to resort guests for a special “Preview Period.” This period provides a unique chance to offer feedback and actively participate in shaping the future of Black Desert Resort before its official grand opening in early 2025. During the Preview Period, guests will have access to a range of amenities and services, including limited dining options, recreational facilities, and the spectacular golf course, all set against the stunning backdrop of Southern Utah’s red rock landscapes.

Guests can also book the highly anticipated Golf Stay and Play packages, which are now available for reservations up to a year in advance. These exclusive packages, offered at a 10-15 percent discount off the best available rates, include two nights in premium accommodations, greens fees for two, cart fees, complimentary range balls, food and non-alcoholic beverages during your round, a fore caddy, and a personalized tee gift. Additionally, guests can enjoy same-day replays for just $175.

Group Golf Outings are also available for reservation for groups of 12 or more, requiring a two-night minimum stay, and can be booked up to a year in advance.

“Experiencing a round at Black Desert Resort feels like playing on a private course, yet we take pride in being a resort that is open to all,” said Patrick Manning, managing partner of Black Desert Resort. “The enthusiastic response to our golf course since its opening just over a year ago reflects our dedication to excellence. The stunning black lava that frames our fairways, along with the breathtaking red rock backdrop, creates an extraordinary atmosphere, and we are committed to making the entire resort experience equally memorable.”

Set against the spectacular backdrop of Greater Zion, the par-72, 7,400-yard Black Desert golf course was designed by Phil Smith and the late Tom Weiskopf – the final design from the World Golf Hall of Fame 2024 inductee. The course features forgiving fairways and strategically placed landing areas ranging from 70 to 100 yards wide.

Carts equipped with GPS provide hole-by-hole commentary from Weiskopf. The practice area includes TRACKMAN technology, and the expansive two-acre, 36-hole putting green is the perfect place to fine-tune your stroke before a round or enjoy a fun barefoot putting competition with friends over evening refreshments.

Black Desert Resort will be one of the only golf courses in the country to host professional tournaments at the highest levels for men and women, as the Black Desert Championship will bring the PGA Tour back to Utah this October for the first time in more than 60 years and the LPGA Tour will play a tournament at the course in Spring, 2025. Each tournament is part of multi-year partnerships to host the events at Black Desert.

Amid the sprawling, centuries-old canvas of striking black lava beds and burnt-red sandstone cliffs of Greater Zion, Black Desert Resort will unveil its first phase after it hosts the Black Desert Championship in October 2024. The preview phase will include 447 luxury guestrooms and suites, 45,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, five diverse restaurant and beverage outlets, including a 20th-hole club lounge, heated outdoor pools and hot tubs, plus easy access to more than acres of preserved land, with six miles of hiking trails.

Beginning Spring 2025, the resort will debut an additional 344 luxury guestrooms and suites, in addition to an expansive 15,000-square-foot spa.
