The Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association (LGCOA) has named the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Hall Golf & Country Club on Hilton Head Island, S.C., as its 2024 “Course of the Year.”

Designed by renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills and debuted in 1991, the Arthur Hills Golf Course at Palmetto Hall is a premier 18-hole championship course renowned for its exceptional quality and strategic design. Spanning 6,918 yards from the back tees, the course features a par-72 layout with a demanding slope rating of 147, challenging golfers of all skill levels.

The Arthur Hills Golf Course is celebrated for its demanding layout, which seamlessly integrates the natural beauty of the Lowcountry. Players navigate through mature trees, sparkling lagoons, and native vegetation, encountering strategically placed bunkers and hazards that test precision and strategy.

Recent golf course and grounds improvements at the Arthur Hills Golf Course include new TifEagle Bermuda greens, new Better Billy Bunkers, improved course irrigation, extensive tree work, new tee markers and clubhouse signage, extensive golf course maintenance facility improvements, an artificial tee line for the driving range and new Zoysia grass lawn behind the clubhouse.
