The InterContinental Miami, an iconic hotel in downtown Miami known for its elegant design and world class water views, is celebrating 40 years on Biscayne Bay. Host to rockstars and royalty, the property is renowned for its exterior LED Canvas, spacious luxury rooms and suites; and award-winning dining at celebrity chef Richard Sandoval’s Toro Toro. The hotel also houses Freddy’s, a hidden 1920s themed speakeasy; mySpa and wellness options; and arts programming.
From its original design in 1983 by Pietro Belucci and the installation of Henry Moore’s Spindle sculpture, to its present-day status as Miami’s luxury downtown legend, InterContinental Miami has been tied to city’s growth and ascendance as an international destination for more than just fun in the sun over the past four decades
The property recently completed a multi-million-dollar refresh that saw significant upgrades to the 652 rooms and suites and an expansion of the Club Lounge.
Most notable are the 22 suites which came on line with new furnishings, bathrooms and other amenities. Suites range in size from 400 to 3,300-square-feet and features decor that mirrors their magnificent ocean views; with the exquisite Royal and Presidential Suites, perched on the 34th floor. Inspired by the hotel’s modern architecture and its expansive views of the historic Port of Miami, these exquisite sky top residences boast dramatic two-story windows of glass that look out across the water with views of the Port, Miami Beach and beyond.
The elevated Club Lounge, which is found on the 29th floor, has doubled in size to 3,000-square-feet and provides complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails & hors d’oeuvres for guests staying in Club Lounge Rooms.
Day/Life Cabana
In celebration of the 40th anniversary, the hotel is offering a number of specials and enhancements.
