The Kessler Collection has named Simon Pettigrew as managing director of its JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. Pettigrew’s 35 years of luxury hospitality experience in 12 national and international locations started in the kitchens in his native Forest of Dean, England. He relocated to the United States, where he joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in several food and beverage and resort leadership roles in Philadelphia, Dallas, Hawaii, San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York and as GM in Miami and Vancouver.
He also led the Hotel and Food & Beverage teams of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as senior vice president of resort oerations.
The most ambitious hotel project in the career of developer Richard Kessler, JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District was recently inducted into Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is one of more than 300 hotels and resorts throughout the country that is recognized by Historic Hotels of America for preserving and maintaining its historic integrity, architecture, and ambiance. It’s the second hotel of The Kessler Collection to be inducted into Historic Hotels of America. Casa Monica Resort & Spa, dating to 1888 and located in St. Augustine, Florida has been a member of Historic Hotels of America since 2001.
