The Magnolia Inn, one of the Village of Pinehurst’s more storied hotels, on Feb. 7 after a year-long renovation that completely remodeled its guest rooms and interior.
The Magnolia is the second-oldest hotel in the Village behind only The Holly Inn, which welcomed Pinehurst’s first guests on New Year’s Eve in 1895, just one year before The Magnolia first opened its doors. Pinehurst Resort agreed to acquire The Magnolia Inn, which also houses Villaggio Ristorante & Bar, in 2021, and shortly after, began to update the hotel’s guest rooms.
“The Magnolia Inn will provide a unique and charming experience to the Resort and the Village of Pinehurst, and it is an experience unlike any other accommodation on property,” said Pinehurst Resort’s Director Of Hotel Operations Matt Chriscoe. “We can’t wait for guests to begin creating their own stories and memories at this special landmark.”
The Inn, which previously hosted 10 rooms, now more pleasantly houses eight refreshed spaces, perfectly blending modern elegance with The Magnolia’s signature historic charm that dates back to 1896. Each room, Chriscoe said, is comfortably sized and architecturally unique, with spacious sitting areas and bathrooms.
The Inn is the perfect choice for small spa-going groups, couples’ getaways or for those seeking a quiet and intimate retreat.
An original hallmark among the sandy and brick pathways that make up the Village, The Magnolia Inn offers an experience unlike any other stay in Pinehurst. The Inn shares some of the most interesting history in the Village, and this renovation might be one of its most dramatic since the Inn’s top two floors were removed in the early 1910s. That renovation led to Pinehurst’s famed “Staircase to Nowhere,” a quirky element that remains intact – and refreshed – following the resort’s remodeling.
