Bobby Jones Links Vice President of Culture and Coaching, Gautam Patankar, will speak at The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) Retail Conference on Jan. 24 as part of PGA Show week at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Patankar will share his expertise on building culture and attracting and retaining employees.
The annual AGM Retail Conference brings together the golf industry’s top experts in retail and leadership to share their best business practices and strategies.
Patankar’s presentation topic will focus on how businesses can create and nurture a culture that attracts and retains employees in today’s labor market. His session will focus specifically on the viability of a positive, employee-first environment. To help attendees plan their experience, the conference has two main tracks: the merchandising track and the management track. Patankar’s session will be a part of the latter.
“I am very much looking forward to speaking at this year’s AGM Retail Conference and sharing my learnings on something that is so top-of-mind in our industry,” Patankar said. “At Bobby Jones Links, we are committed to establishing an employee-centric culture throughout our company and our clubs, and it’s awesome to know that I’ll get to reach a new audience who can benefit from the ideas I’m so passionate about.”
The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) is an international, professional association consisting of more than 850 buyer members, 50 student members and over 160 Vendor Partners all dedicated to strengthening the golf merchandising industry. AGM buyer members are responsible for the retail operations at over 1,500 golf shops with annual sales in excess of $800 million.
“We value Gautam’s leadership and insight every day at Bobby Jones Links, and we’re thrilled to have him representing us at the AGM Retail Conference,” said Doug Hellman, AGM president of business development. “This conference and AGM in general recruit speakers who are not only knowledgeable but true experts in their field.
