A chic Caribbean hideaway for the world’s most elite the past six decades and counting, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas will be commemorating its storied past and bright future with a special three-day celebration, February 10-12, 2023. Inspired by the star-studded Bal du Paradis inaugural gala in 1962 and The Ocean Club’s 007 James Bond legacy, the festivities will truly be once in a lifetime. As part of this special experience, the Resort will also unveil the extensively renovated Crescent Wing and additional property-wide enhancements made over the past few months across all public spaces, such as the Resort’s signature restaurant DUNE by Jean-Georges, the gym, Versailles Pool, Ocean Pool and the Spa. Those attending the 60th anniversary celebration can expect surprise and delight moments and a current take on the legendary parties the Resort has hosted over the years.
The weekend of festivities at the Caribbean’s most ultra-luxury address will be highlighted with three marquee events:
- Diamonds are Forever: A welcome reception dinner and live entertainment on Friday as tribute to The Ocean Club’s 007 James Bond legacy. This event pays homage to Casino Royale, the 2006 movie was filmed on site at the Resort at the famed Martini Bar, Versailles Gardens and Villa Residences.
- Bal du Paradis Gala: This Saturday evening reception is reprising the original Huntington Hartford Opening Gala in February 1962 where stars the likes of William Randolph Hearst, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Benny Goodman celebrated the new resort conceived by George Huntington Hartford II. Guests attending the 2023 reprise can expect a champagne welcome with canapés and synchronized swimmers by the Versailles Pool, the original four-course dinner with wine pairings and live entertainment followed by dancing.
- Anniversary Farewell Brunch: A lavish Four Seasons brunch on Sunday to close out the festivities hosted in the Resort’s DUNE restaurant overlooking the beach and turquoise waters. Includes unlimited Mimosas, Bloody Marys and a champagne bar.
As it moves into its next decade The Ocean Club is building on its legacy with these latest property enhancements. The design concept for the renovation of the Crescent Wing was inspired by the natural setting, rich local culture, and glamorous legacy of the 60-year-old property itself. It is influenced by classical Bahamian architecture and style, the secluded and intimate enclave-style arrangement of the Resort and the legendary Versailles-style terraced gardens.
Also unveiled at this celebration will be a commemorative coffee table book published by Assouline in partnership with The Ocean Club. The book is a literary tale of the luminary guests who have found themselves on Paradise Island over the last half-century. A limited number of books will be available for purchase on Assouline’s website in February 2023.
