Westgate Resort in Orlando on Dec. 10 wrapped up its 11 annual Westgate Salutes Military Weekend, in which 1,000 active military members, veterans, and Gold Star Families were gifted a free 3-day, 2-night vacation full of great music, family-friendly activities, and patriotism at Westgate Town Center & Vacation Villas Resort.
During their time at Westgate Resort Orlando, thousands of military family members took part in the event, which included a Red, White, & Blue 5K, a family field day, a military vehicle display and parade.
Guests also were treated to lentertainment, such as Las Vegas magician Jen Kramer, Soul of Motown, and a patriotic performance from Chris Weaver Band. Military Weekend ended with a fireworks display. Throughout the event, military families were able to make a splash at Westgate’s two-story water park Shipwreck Island water park.

Earlier this year, Westgate Foundation, a charitable arm of Westgate Resorts, announced a monetary donation of $1 million as a result of its recent philanthropic efforts launched in celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary.
Westgate’s charitable efforts included its “40 Acts of Kindness” campaign, which comprised of 40 staff-led teams that volunteered for 40 consecutive days from thia past Sept. 7 to Oct. 17. In total, the company contributed $1 million in monetary donations to benefit more than 40 organizations that align with the Foundation’s focus pillars of opioid crisis, family stability, military and workforce readiness.
