The Fall season is beginning in South Florida. And while there are no leaves changing colors, there is plenty to enjoy in area restaurants, bars and events.

Here’s a look at few:

The Fifth Annual Taste of Recovery will be held on Nov. 4 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the American German Club located in Lake Worth.  The acclaimed culinary festival will feature bites from top chefs representing restaurants throughout Palm Beach County, as well as live entertainment.

Taste of Recovery will benefit The Crossroads Club, a non-profit organization in Delray Beach that is celebrating 40 years in the community. The organization provides a safe haven for anyone whose life has been adversely affected by, or through, the use of addictive substances at no charge.

Participating restaurants include Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria, City Cellar, Elisabetta’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria, City Oyster & Sushi Bar, Rocco’s Tacos, Grease Burger Bar, Proper Ice Cream, Subculture Coffee, Leftovers/Foodshack, London Essence, Liquid Alchemist, New Orleans Pralines, Oceans 234, Finnegans, Windy City Pizza, Catering CC, Pure Green Juice & Smoothie Bar, Bustle & Brew Coffee Company, The Original Popcorn House, J & J’s Seafood Bar and Grill, The London Essense  Co. and The Coca-Cola Company, with more to be added.

A “People’s Choice” Award will be given for “Best Bite,” and prominent local food writers will decide the Critics’ Choice Awards with cash prizes of $1,500 prize.

The South Florida event was founded by Chef Louie Bossi, chef and partner of Louie Bossi’s Ristorante and Pizzeria. Big Time Restaurant Group has been a supporter of the event since its inception.

Tickets are $60 prior to the event and $75 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased here.

The Crossroads Club is not a sober home or treatment center. Rather, Crossroads is a non-profit 12-Step based meeting center that supports an average of 700 people per day who are pursuing recovery from various forms of addiction. Since 1982, Crossroads has been an essential element in the recovery of countless individual residents in South Florida and from around the world.

For more than a decade, Dada – one of Delray Beach’s more popular restaurants -has hosted its highly-anticipated, philanthropic Thanksgiving Feast, bringing cheer and comfort to thousands of homeless, homebound, and unemployed residents. This year, the iconic eatery, along with Howley’s in West Palm Beach, will donate 100 percent of the holiday dinner’s proceeds to Hospitality Helping Hands, a West Palm Beach-based nonprofit launched in 2020 by Subculture Group’s Rodney Mayo that aids thousands, including children and animals affected by food insecurity, natural disasters, and more in South Florida and the Bahamas.

Dada (Essentials Group)

The evening will spotlight Dada executive chef Daniel Dore’s three-course holiday menu featuring a choice of brussels sprout soup or mixed green salad; dark and white turkey meat with traditional trimmings such as mashed potatoes, sauteed green beans, cornbread stuffing, and homemade cranberry sauce; and a slice of apple or pumpkin pie. A vegan/vegetarian option is also available upon request.

The cost is $40 plus tax and gratuity and includes a soft drink. Kids 16 years and younger eat for $16 plus tax and gratuity.

Named after the farcical art movement of the early twentieth century, Dada is located in close proximity to Delray Beach’s bustling Pineapple Grove Arts District. Ensconced inside one of the city’s oldest residences, the historic Tarrimore House, the restaurant hosts 140 seats (80 inside, 60 outside), an intimate cocktail bar that seats six, and two en plein-air dining settings dotted with vintage playground toys – one anchored beneath a towering, 100-year-old banyan tree, the other nestled along the home’s mature vine-covered exterior overlooking a lush herb garden. The menu focuses on palate-pleasing dishes that reflect a reverence for fresh, wholesome ingredients and Dore’s adoration for travel.

Michigan-based Savvy Sliders, a fast-growing national slider brand, one of America’s fastest growing slider brand, has opened their first Florida store in Tamarac in Broward County. The 2,300 square-foot store is open 24 hours and is located on West Commercial Blvd in Fort Lauderdale.

Swank Farm’s (Loxahatchee) first Farmhouse Dinner of the Season will be Oct. 15 ( 7 pm to 9 pm) and feature Nick Morfogen, formerly of 32 East Delray Beach and now Executive Chef for Pine Tree Country Club in Boynton Beach.
