The Luxury Collection, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, has Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos, the brand’s first property in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“The Luxury Collection embodies the art of curation, bringing together an exceptional portfolio of unique hotels in some of the world’s most captivating and unexpected destinations,” said  Bruce Rohr, vice president and global brand leader, The Luxury Collection. “We are thrilled to introduce Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos as the latest addition to our expanding global footprint, offering travelers a gateway to South Caicos –  a serene, lesser-explored corner of the Caribbean known for its picturesque beauty and rich maritime heritage. With its nature-inspired design, elevated culinary experiences, and world-class eco-adventures, this resort epitomizes the brand’s destination-first philosophy, where every property reflects the soul of its locale and acts as a portal to authentic cultural discovery.”

Designed by the acclaimed Edge of Architecture firm, led by 2020 Gold Key Awards Designer of the Year Malcolm Berg, the resort’s architecture reflects the essence of South Caicos’ natural landscapes.

At the heart of the resort lies The Spa at Salterra, a sanctuary dedicated to enhancing well-being and rejuvenation. With eight luxurious treatment rooms, including two couple suites, and a carefully curated selection of world-class treatments designed to restore balance, the spa offers a tropical refuge where guests can revitalize both their body and mind. Inspired by the resort’s oceanic setting, the spa features a multisensory aqua thermal circuit with a salt sauna, steam room, aloe bar, and a rejuvenating hammam, harnessing the healing effects of water to wash away stress and fatigue. Whether guests choose to unwind in the outdoor lounge, soak in the hot tub, or enjoy the social pool, the spa offers an oasis for guests to immerse themselves in the present moment.

The resort offers six distinctive dining experiences, each showcasing the island’s rich culinary heritage. At the chic lobby bar Sisal, guests will discover the bounty of the region with ever-changing menus, featuring bites and cocktails made with fresh, seasonal local ingredients. After a day of exploring the island, guests can unwind with Latin-inspired cuisine and expert mixology set against the stunning backdrop of the resort’s private beach at Cobo Bar & Grill, the resort’s waterfront dining destination. The resort’s signature restaurant, Brine, offers an exquisite chef’s tasting menu, expertly paired with an extensive wine selection. The restaurant also offers a signature upon request Epicurean Moment, that consists of a 7-course menu that evolves with the seasons, inspired by a prized ingredient deeply rooted in the region’s history: salt, often referred to as “white gold.” Regatta offers a laidback coastal ambiance where guests can enjoy British Caribbean fusion cuisine with golden hour views from the second-story terrace. For casual fare, Flamingo CafĂ© offers homemade gelato, local fruit smoothies, and crafted espresso, while Jack & Jenny’s, the resort’s food truck, serves a rotating menu of street food dishes infused with local influences.

The resort sits by an expansive stretch of untouched white-sand beaches and the protected Admiral Cockburn Land & Sea National Park, offering a diverse array of adventures in unadulterated nature for every type of traveler. From watersports like kayaking and bone fishing to seasonal whale watching, guests can discover the natural wonders of South Caicos. The crystalline, calm waters of South Caicos provide the optimal conditions for diving and snorkeling, offering opportunities for close encounters with indigenous marine life in their aquatic sanctuary. Guests can join guided tours to explore local wildlife, uninhabited islands, and natural salt ponds, offering a rich immersive experience that sparks curiosity for travelers of all ages.

The resort also presents a Salt Discovery Experience, part of the brand’s signature Destination Discovery offerings, where guests can journey through the storied salinas and learn about the salt trade heritage, while encountering unique wildlife that thrives in this ecosystem. To foster a deeper connection with the surrounding environment, the resort also offers coral reef restoration workshops in partnership with the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium, offering guests an opportunity to leave the destination even better than they found it.

“Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos is more than just a resort; it’s a destination where elegance and the spirit of South Caicos intertwine,” Brian King, President of Marriott International’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region, said. “We are committed to offering guests a journey that celebrates the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage while offering the unmatched luxury and service synonymous with The Luxury Collection.”For more information and booking,
