JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa has announced hospitality veterans William “Bill” Gideon as Executive Chef and Chef Wilfredo Garcia as Chef de Cuisine. The pair will work in tandem overseeing all of the property’s food and beverage outlets.

Gideon, with more than 40 years of culinary experience, most recently held the position of Executive Chef at Live! Casino & Hotel in Washington D.C.  A nominee for the James Beard Foundation in the category of Top Hotel Chef, Gideon’s career has included positions at many luxury resorts and restaurants including Executive Chef roles at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa in Maryland and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

Garcia, a Miami local, has prior experience as Executive Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Coral Gables and The Shelborne Grand Resort & Spa. He has worked with many other luxury properties, including Four Seasons Miami, Miami Biltmore Resort & Spa, and Loews Miami Beach Hotel.  

As Executive Chef, Gideon will oversee all concepts including Corsair Kitchen & Bar, the property’s modern American restaurant. He will lead culinary operations for the hotel’s meetings and events encompassing the property’s 220,000 square feet of Conference Center. He also will be in charge of menu development and leadership training.

As Chef de Cuisine, Garcia will also be in the kitchen of Corsair Kitchen & Bar, with additional responsibilities including guiding culinary operations for the Conference Center and assisting with menu development, leadership training, and inventory control.
