With a larger-than-life course (the Blue Monster) and the storied golf history of host Trump National Doral Miami, there’s no better setting for the LIV Golf League’s 2025 South Florida debut. The League’s 13 four-player teams, April 4-6, will tee it up on the legendary Blue Monster, originally designed by Dick Wilson more than 60 years ago and renovated in 2013 by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner.
Those teams competing in LIV Golf Miami feature a collective 14 major champions with a combined 28 major championships and are led by many of the biggest stars in the game, including: 2024 LIV Golf Individual Champion, Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), 2024 Team Champion & Ripper GC captain Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), Phil Mickelson (HyFlyers GC), Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC), Sergio Garcia (Fireballs GC) and Joaquin Niemann (Torque GC).
The Blue Monster, by the way, its name from its blue tees and not its water hazards. This year continues the course’s record run of hosting a professional golf event each year since 1962.
“Playing in Miami, there’s a lot of culture down there, and a lot of professional sports down there,’’ Watson said. “Bringing golf back there… It’s fun. The Blue Monster has always been a part of golf, and LIV is taking over and making that part of our league.”

South African Dean Bermester won the 2024 LIV Golf Miami event in a two-hole playoff against Garcia. Rahm’s Legion XIII won the Team Championship.
“Miami is always fun, and we always enjoy playing there,’’ said Garcia, who earlier this month won LIV Golf Hong Kong. “Every tournament is important. Hopefully we keep the momentum going like we have been. Obviously, I had a nice week there last year, and it would be nice to play well there again and give myself another shot at it.”
