The James Hardie™ Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational kicks off (pardon the pun) today with a sold-out women’s pro-am and continues through April 6 at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, FL.
The PGA Tour Champions players field, playing for a $2.2 million purse, will feature 26 Pro Football Hall of Fame legends competing alongside 78 PGA Tour Champions players, April 4-6.
PGA Tour Champions players include two-time major John Daly, who at the age of 58 continues to be one of the more popular players in the game. Daly, a kicker at Jefferson City (MO) Helias High School, will be playing competitively in South Florida for the first time since 2020. Daly is one of nine former major champions in the James Hardie field; the others are Darren Clarke, David Duval, Retief Goosen, Lee Janzen, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Vijay Singh and Y.E. Yang.

“We are thrilled with our field for the inaugural James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational,” said Ken Kennerly, Executive Director of the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational. “Having John Daly playing in South Florida for the first time in five years will be a treat for the fans. And with the Pro Football Hall of Famers playing alongside these great golfers, as well as in the pro-ams on Wednesday and Thursday, it will make for a different and more enjoyable fan experience.”
On the Pro Football Hall of Fame side, former Miami Dolphins stars Cris Carter and Dwight Stephenson are scheduled to play. They will be joined by Morten Anderson, Rondé Barber, Jerome Bettis, Tony Boselli, Derrick Brooks, Tim Brown, Isaac Bruce, Terrell Davis, Richard Dent, Eric Dickerson, Dan Fouts, Dwight Freeney, Dan Hampton, Mike Haynes, Devin Hester, Steve Hutchinson, Marshall Faulk, Calvin Johnson, James Lofton, Tom Mack, Randall McDaniel, Anthony Munoz, Jonathan Ogden, Orlando Pace, John Randle, Andre Reed, Warren Sapp, Will Shields, Jan Stenerud, Thurman Thomas, DeMarcus Ware, Roger Wehrli, Patrick Willis and Kellen Winslow.
“To bring these football legends side by side with PGA Tour Champions players is unique,’’ Kennerly said. “This will be one of the more recognized events on the PGA Tour Champions schedule.’’
Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and the First Tee each are among the primary charities for the event.
The tournament, which starts April 4 at the Old Course at Broken Sound Club, is different because it will have 26 Pro Football Hall of Famers teaming with PGA Tour Champions players during the first two rounds in a best-ball format. The PGA Tour Champions players will then complete their separate 54-hole competition in the final round when they play by themselves. Twenty-six of the Hall of Famers will play in the tournament, with the rest playing in the pro-ams.
