Bourbon Steak, a Michael Mina Restaurant, the signature restaurant at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, has named acclaimed Chef Mario Beabraut as Executive Chef. A seasoned chef with extensive and diverse experience, including nearly a decade of success within the Michael Mina restaurant empire,Beabraut will oversee the day-to-day operations for Bourbon Steak, rightfully considered one of Florida’s top steakhouses.
“I am honored to continue working with Chef Mina and I am excited to bring my passion and ideas to one of South Florida’s most revered restaurants,” Beabraut said. “With the support of an incredible Bourbon Steak team, I look forward to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in taste and experience, and creating a world-class, unforgettable dining experience.”
A native of Palm Beach, Beabraut discovered his love for cooking while visiting Italy. Throughout his culinary journey, he’s worked alongside a number of celebrated chefs, including Thomas Keller, Angela Hartnett, and Daniel Boulud. He first teamed up with James Beard Award winning Chef Michael Mina as a member of the MINA Group task force for Bourbon Steak, a Michael Mina Restaurant, located in Santa Clara, CA., in 2017 before becoming the restaurant’s Executive Chef, while also overseeing operations of Chef Mina’s Tailgate and MINA Catering operations.
Prior to this, Beabraut served as Executive Sous Chef of Farm Shop Marin in Larkspur, CA. He received his culinary education at the Florida Culinary Institute.
