Never one to miss a celebration, Puma Golf has released a limited-edition capsule in conjunction this week’s Players Championship at TPC Sawhgrass.
The Phantomcat Nitro Gator is designed in homage to the state of Florida and the alligators that populate it. The shoe has a timeless wingtip design complete with a navy, gold, and white color scheme.
The Gator version of the Phantomcat Nitro also features additional style cues such as a gold heel and sole that features a gold gator print. The insole of the shoe is finished with a stamp of the state of Florida in the heel.
The LE Phantomcat Nitro, according to Puma Golf, is designed with Nitrogen Infused Foam in the heel to provide improved rebound. In addition, the Flexspike design provides a new take on traction. Engineered to increase surface contact with the ground, the uniquely shaped, integrated cleats not only provide greater grip but also improve weight distribution. The unique shape of the new Flexspikes, Puma Golf says, provides multiple traction elements for increased grip in a variety of conditions.
The collection also features Puma’s MATTR Tropics Polo ($80), and a rope hat ($40), as well as several Cobra gator-themed headcovers ($75-$90), all of which take style cues from the state of Florida as well as the famous island green at TPC Sawgrass.
