Surf’s Up at The Twin Fin on Waikiki. The Twin Fin, one of the hottest new hotels in Waikiki is located steps from the ocean and features refreshed guestrooms, vibrant design, authentic experiences rooted in Hawaiian culture, and towering views overlooking the south shore of Oahu. The Twin Fin was named after a surfboard with two fins that is ideal for cruisy surfing. Rates begin at $239 per night – a Surf’s Up deal by Waikiki standards.

The hotel pays homage to the destination – the birthplace of modern surfing – through design, partnerships with local artists, and meaningful sustainability efforts.

 Here’s a look:

  • Check In, Paddle Out: Surfline, the world’s leading company for wave forecasting and surf reports, has installed three high-definition cameras that stream real-time surf conditions throughout the hotel. A Surfline in-room channel offers surf content to guests at The Twin Fin, and all hotel guests receive a one-month free trial of Surfline’s Premium subscriber experience. In addition, guests have access to a variety of beach activity rentals, such as surfboards, paddleboards and beach chairs as part of the resort amenity fee.
  • Ocean-Friendly Stays: The Twin Fin is the first resort in Hawaii to carry Mananalu’s aluminum water bottles, saving more than 200,000 plastic bottles from going into the ocean. Mananalu founder Jason Momoa was so excited about the partnership that recently visited the hotel in person. The Twin Fin has committed to taking the Parley AIR pledge as its first step to eliminating single-use plastics from the hotel in partnership with Parley for Oceans. Educational programs and talks featuring Parley guest speakers and beach cleanups are available on select dates throughout the year.
  • Art with Meaning: Custom artwork for the hotel was designed by local artists and features a collection of dynamic, ocean-inspired installations, large-scale murals, and painted surfboards. The Wave is an oversized, wave-shaped art structure made from ocean plastic and Albizia wood, an invasive species to Hawaii. In addition, The Twin Fin offers a rotating Artist in Residency program. Currently, Danielle Rush from Illuminated ART Hawaii is in residence, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for guests.
  • Cultural Programing: Regular programming includes Hulahop, Paint & Sip, and a bimonthly stargazing event where guests learn how to use a telescope to look for the same night sky signposts that were key in Polynesian wayfinding as they traveled the Pacific Ocean.
